Synopsis:
An Innovative Engineering Technology Towards A Clean and Sustainable Environment Ever imagine the roadside rubbish bins being self-emptying and streets without garbage collection trucks being visible hence having a clean and sustainable environment to appreciate for?
In this seminar and site visit session, we will be discussing an innovative engineering technology that will help mankind to solve one of the problematic issues in the current world, sold waste management. The technology is known as the Automated Waste Collection System (AWCS) which transports municipal or domestic solid waste through underground or ceiling-height pipes at a high speed from the waste chutes or outdoor load stations to centralized collection stations located away from the living neighborhood. The waste transported through the pipe network will be stored in a fully sealed container that is collected periodically by a conventional arm roll truck. We will explore on the various leading-edge AWCS technologies available to cater to the waste removal routine of different development types. Similarly, we will talk about the benefits of the system sustainability has to offer to the community and to the environment; as well as discuss the challenges we will encounter to have the system in place.

Ir. Chea Thean Teik
Ir. Chea Thean Teik is the Group Chief Executive Officer of STREAM Group, Malaysia’s first Central Vacuum Systems (CVS) and Automated Waste Collection Systems (AWCS) Company. Chea joined STREAM Group back in 2005 in Malaysia and has since made significant contributions to developing STREAM Group, which today serves over 250 customer projects over Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, China, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Qatar, and United Arab Emirates. As a certified Professional Mechanical Engineer, Chea has a deep understanding of the market with over 25 years of vast & multi-country experiences in CVS & AWCS, Waste Management, Building’s M&E Services, Mechanical Handling Engineering, Project Management, and Contract Administration. Always enthusiastically in sharing Waste Management experience and knowledge, Chea was actively invited as speaker of few universities, corporations, and conferences, locally and internationally throughout recent years.
