MBPP Office @ Penang City Park
Following the expansion of the office, the existing office, which located at site was unable to accommodate the officers and working files.  Hence, the client, Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang (MBPP) decided to locate the new office to the site next to the existing building in order to accommodate approximately 100 officers for Landscape Department and Community Service Department.  The site is located within the compound of Penang Municipal Park (Youth Park), a scenic forest park setting. Therefore, MBPP intended to have an environmentally friendly yet greener working environment to showcase their public reputation as a government sector, which in line with the vision of the government.

aLM Architects
The firm of aLM Architects is a multi-disciplinary firm engaging in the practice of architecture, urban design, town planning, interior design, green building and heritage building conservation. The firm is founded in the State of Penang, Malaysia on 22 February 2OO3 by Ar. Mei Chee Seong and Ar. Liew Tze Siang. The founding of the firm is based upon the premise that artistic and scientific attitudes are inseparable components of the process of making architecture.
The principle philosophy of the firm stresses the ability to produce creative and aesthetic products for clients seeking beautiful solutions, coupled with technical capacity for solving the complicated problems, such as energy saving, audio-acoustic, restoration, security and circulation concerns.

aLM Architects' projects emphasize a high quality of design that is unique in comparison with others. Combining sensitive consideration of the particular historical and contextual conditions of each project, added with clear understanding of the programmatic, technical and budgetary parameters of the clients, the firm seeks every possible alternative to complete every assigned task in time.
We pay particular attention to the quality of materials and detailing, provides unique contemporary design solutions to problems of varying scales. In aLM Architects, every project has its own story. Creativity is the most important tool to provide the most appropriate solutions for every stage of our projects.
With a humble start from 2 personnel to more than 40 people, the firm has gone through series of internal changes and self-improvement.

Currently, aLM Architects is large enough to undertake major projects and small enough to foster a strong
relationship between partners and clients. Our commitment to quality, responsiveness and client satisfaction has been rewarded by a broad client base and long-term relationship.
After establishment of Alor Setar office, Kedah, in the year of 2OO4 and Kota Kinabalu office, Sabah, in the year of 2OO5, the initial opportunity to extend the works of aLM Architects outside Malaysia came with the commissioning of tourism and hospitality related projects in The Sultanate of Oman in the year of 2OO7. Subsequently, initiatives in venturing into overseas market still continue to bloom in countries such as Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand and China. In several of our international projects, we have worked with other respected international architectural practices and it has been a tremendous learning experience for us. These collaborations has also earned us respect from our international colleagues for our commitments
and enthusiasm towards the projects.

In the year of 2O11, understanding the importance of exploring the possibilities in green building design, aLM Green Sdn Bhd has been formed. Since its establishment, the firm has been actively involving in the Green Building Index facilitating services and public awareness activities in regards to green and environmental friendly issues.
Besides that, aLM Architects also extended the service into heritage building conservation under the name of aLM Heritage Sdn Bhd in the year of 2O13. Heritage is the common asset of the people and keeping interesting old buildings and their stories are equally important apart from designing new buildings.
